*General FAQ's

  • Why are some classes scheduled during religious holidays? We do our best to consider every major religious holiday when planning our courses. However, given the constraints on Terry's time, health, etc, we often have his schedule as the determining factor.

  • I would like the notes/AI generated content from a class, how would i get this? For all classes where we offer transcripts or AI summaries those can be found below each lesson inside of the the course.

  • I want to be added to the mailing list. Please go to www.terryreal.com and scroll down a short way, you will see a sign up form.

  • Does the RLT Hub have an app?  We do not have an app for the RLT Hub. There is a way to make it similar to an app on your phone but it doesn't have the same functionality as an App.

    1. Use the instructions from this page.

    2. Go to our site: www.learn.relationallife.com and login

    3. Add our site to your home screen on your smartphone

Then you have the icon show up much the same way as an app. You can also still listen to the  classes while the screen is off, or while you're driving.

  • US taxes. Do I pay taxes on top of this training?  There are no taxes added to the fees for courses or certification.

  • Complaint against a Therapist. We understand it can feel vulnerable to raise issues like this, and we appreciate you taking the time to do so. The Relational Life Institute is a training organisation. We are not a licensing or regulatory body, which means we are not able to investigate or intervene in the work of individual practitioners.

If you feel comfortable, we encourage you to first bring your concerns directly to your therapist. In our experience, open and direct communication often provides the clearest path to repair and resolution.

If your therapist is a licensed provider, we also suggest reviewing the informed consent or service agreement you received at the start of your work together. This document should outline options for next steps - including professional boards or governing bodies -should you wish to explore them.

If you would prefer to continue with a different practitioner, you may find it helpful to explore our Practitioner Directory to connect with another certified RLT clinician who may feel like a better fit.

We recognise this may be a difficult process, and we encourage you to seek the support you need as you decide on the steps that feel right for you.

  • Can I share Terry's work with my clients? Of couse! One note, while you are welcome to share direct quotes from Terry’s written materials, books, quizzes, etc. please ensure you cite and credit Terry Real properly. Please check with us before sharing anything else.

  • Are RLT courses accessible for visually impaired learners using screen readers? Some courses can be navigated via screen reading software. Reading-based resources like eBooks or Kindle work well. Video content may not always work if it shows graphs or text. Suggested starting points: Fierce Intimacy audiobook, the US course, Self Esteem course (live), and the YouTube channel. Compatibility should be confirmed with course facilitators.

  • Is there a separate RLT course on grandiosity beyond RLT 1? Yes. Terry has special topics courses on grandiosity: one is Working with Grandiosity, and there is another specifically on working with grandiose women involved with shut-down men. There is also "Working with Men" which covers this as well.

  • I'm not a therapist. Can I join the workshop? Yes, you can join most workshops even if you are not a therapist. Many of Terry's workshops, such as the US Workshop and The Art of Relational Living, are designed for both therapists and non-therapists. These workshops teach relational skills that apply to romantic relationships, self-relationships, friendships, family, and coworkers. However, there are many trainings that are specifically designed for Practitioners such as our Level 1,2,3 trainings, Working With Infidelity, and many more.

  • Do you have any internship opportunities?  The RLT Foundation sometimes does and you can reach out to foundation@relationallife.com as they sometimes take internships.  The foundation doesn't do anything clinical at the Foundation, but it is a good opportunity to work with practitioners, learn more about nonprofits, from an operations perspective and learn more about RLT in general! https://www.relationallifefoundation.org/research.html

  • What is live learning and what is home study? And can I join live? In our Certification we have various live courses; Couples Experientials are one example as well as our Level 1 course which happens live, usually twice a year. While we run other courses live, the majority of the other courses you need for Certification are done as homestudy.
