Relational Parenting
- I’m a therapist, will this course be useful for me?
Yes! We encourage anyone studying to become an RLT therapist (or thinking about it) to take all of Terry’s courses. It will teach you to practice what you preach as an RLT therapist, helping you to live relationally in your own life and truly understand the impact of the model.
- How long is the course?
The course is 7.5 hours long in total of five 90-minute sessions.
- What if my kids are grown up? Will this course still work?
The tools of Relational Life Therapy apply to all relationships. This course is focused a little bit more on parents of children and teens. However the tools will apply to the relationship between parents and grown up children as well. The principles of self esteem and boundaries etc. work pretty much the same way for grown children.
- What if I’m a single Parent or divorced? IE What if I don’t have a partner to team up with?
RLT works well with single parents. RLT is also very applicable to separated and divorced individuals/ex-partners who want to learn and use the skills for developing or maintaining an effective co-parenting team once the marriage is over.
