Individual/Personal Support

  • I'm going through a challenging time. I want help, how can you help me? Relational Life Therapy (RLT) helps people break unhealthy relationship patterns and build stronger, more connected relationships - with partners, family, or themselves. Whether you're dealing with conflict, emotional distance, or just feeling stuck, RLT offers practical tools to support real change. Some examples include; Patterns of shutting down or controlling behaviour, Healing from betrayal or infidelity, Improving self-esteem and boundaries, Learning to “do” intimacy in a healthy, sustainable way.

  • The course I'm doing triggered me - what coping techniques should I use? If the course has triggered you, here are some suggestions to help:

    1. Pause and Ground Yourself: Take a break from the course if needed. Practice grounding techniques such as deep breathing, mindfulness, or focusing on your immediate surroundings to regain a sense of calm.

    2. Reach Out for Support: If you're feeling overwhelmed, connect with a trusted friend, family member, or therapist to share your feelings and get support.

    3. Engage in Self-Care: Prioritize self-soothing activities like journaling, exercising, or spending time in nature to help regulate your emotions.

    4. Practice Self-Compassion: Remind yourself that it's okay to feel triggered and that healing is a process. Be kind and patient with yourself.

    5. Consider Professional Help: If the feelings persist or become difficult to manage, seeking guidance from a therapist, such as those listed in the RLT Therapist Directory www.directory.relationallife.com or the Relational Life Foundation, may be helpful. https://www.relationallifefoundation.org/affordable-couples-therapy.html

Your well-being is important. Take your time and seek the support you need.

  • Are there any courses on healing the inner child? Thank you for reaching out to inquire about this. While we do not have a course specifically for inner child healing, Terry also teaches about the Adaptive and the Wounded Children in several of our courses; Real Self Esteem, Building Better Boundaries, The Art of Relational Living.

Those can be found here - https://terryreal.com/relationship-online-courses/

  • My partner is abusive - what should I do? First, we’re so sorry you’re facing this. No one deserves abuse. Your safety comes first. We can’t offer personalised crisis advice on our support channel, but here are safe next steps and resources.

If you’re in immediate danger: Call your local emergency number. If you can’t speak aloud, use any silent/relay options available in   your area.

Get professional support: If there isn’t immediate danger and it feels safe for you, consider speaking with a therapist:

RLT Therapist Directory: https://directory.relationallife.com/

Sliding-scale therapy (Relational Life Foundation): https://www.relationallifefoundation.org/affordable-couples-therapy.html

Note: When there’s current coercion, threats, or violence, couples sessions may not be      appropriate until a safety plan is in place. An individual therapist or specialist advocate can help you decide what’s safest.

Tech safety: If you’re worried someone may monitor your devices, try a safer device (friend, library) and review tech-safety guidance on trusted hotline sites.

You are not alone: Whatever you choose next - reach out today, plan quietly, or simply read, your pace is valid. When you’re ready, confidential help is available 24/7.
